Retailers want more revenue – Can Twitter Help?
If I was a retailer, what would I want to know?
- Why do people shop with me?
- What new products could we look at carrying?
- Why don’t people shop with me?
- What do people think of our products?
- What are people’s experiences of shopping at our stores
- What are people’s experiences of shopping on line with us
- How can we improve things?
- How can we give the customer a better experience?
- How can we make ourselves remarkable?
- How can we make our customers rave about us to others?
- How can we deal quickly with any issues?
- How can we differentiate ourselves from our competition?
- How can we drive more website traffic to our site?
- How can we sell more merchandise?
- How can we listen to people talking about our brand / product?
- How can we engage with people and develop a relationship?
If I then told you that such a product existed that would enable you to do all this, and it is free, you would probably bite my hand off. Surely as a retailer you would want to be able to do all this and measure the results.
Well that product is available, and surprise surprise it is Twitter. Twitter allows you to do all of this, and more. Twitter as I mentioned is free, but of course it goes without saying that you will need people to do the updating, of your account, and they may well need to be trained, but surely this is a very small price to pay to give you access to all the above information.
As a start, whether or not you use Twitter, I would suggest that you check out Twitter Search. Type in your keywords that you want to monitor, these may well be your brand or product, and see right now if people are talking about you…
