Twitter is Bananas!
Over the last 12 months we have all watched Twitter grow with the acceleration of an F1 car. Social media is a channel that always provides great potential to the recruitment industry, and at Allthetopbananas.com we watched closely; balancing Twitter popularity against our schedule for new developments.
In April / June the scale dropped down in favour of Twitter! Our objective was pretty simple, “Talk with jobseekers and help them”. We narrowed down our massive list of creative ideas of engagement via Twitter and focus switched to the often missed question of “How can we measure the success?”
Our key metrics of success focused on number of followers, growth rate of followers and activity of users introduced to our site from Twitter. July saw our first whole month of Allthetopbananas.com Twitter integration, providing jobseekers with the following:
Manual replies to users
The response was fantastic, we quickly attracted over 5,000 visitors across the 200+ accounts. We generated an additional £3,000 of revenue directly attributed to users from Twitter. In addition there is the larger and hard to measure growth of word of mouth etc. which, judging by our traffic growth and previous trends, has had a very positive effect.
We have had great feedback from Twitter users; the conversation with the jobseeker has only just begun!
What next? Well, we have more developments to enhance the 2-way discussion with jobseekers via Twitter which will be coming soon. We have packaged up our experience and technology and now offer it as a managed solution to our job publishing clients.
